Raymond L. Newkirk is an internationally respected coaching specialist. He holds the Psy.D. in Professional Psychology and Ph.D. with Distinction in Human Science, and the dual Ph.D. in the Philosophy of Science and Behavioral Science. Currently, he is a Th.D. candidate with the University of South Africa.  Dr. Newkirk is a recipient of the Outstanding Scholar Award of the National Honors Institute at Harvard University. He is a transdisciplinary specialist in Strategic Coaching, Technical Management Coaching, Work Teams Design, Multi-Cultural Management, Paleo-Leadership, and Human Activity Systems Design. His professional background in competitive leverage, industrial innovation and technological versatility includes a career in ethnic and cultural research, diversity management, consulting, speaking, executive coaching, and writing. He is the founder of a field of inquiry he terms Paleo-Leadership and has presented the Keynote Address to audiences around the world. Upon his visits to Europe, the press frequently interviewed Dr. Newkirk about management issues and emerging technology.

Dr. Newkirk has an extensive entrepreneurial background and is an accomplished executive having served for companies in diverse industries as Director of Sales, Director of Executive Development, Vice President of Marketing, Vice President of Information Services, Vice President of Human Resources, President and Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Vice-Chairman, and Chairman. He is the Founder and Chairman of Systems Management Institute and recently served as Chairman of Bay University. Dr. Newkirk was a Senior Fellow of the Monterey Bay Management Group. Among other appointments, Dr. Newkirk has served as Chief Operating Office of Mindmaker, Inc. of San Jose, California and Budapest Hungary, President and Chief Operating Officer of P.Q. Information Group, b.v. the Netherlands, and President of the International Association of Information Management.

Working at the highest levels of business and government, Dr. Newkirk led significant initiatives in the Middle East for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States Department of Defense, and in the Far East for the Office of the President, Republic of the Philippines. Dr. Newkirk has also led significant operational engagements for Southwest Bell, Bank of America, and Dell Computers where his projects contributed to Dell’s growth in revenues from one billion dollars to more than eighteen billion dollars in three years. In 1992, the Chairman of the CNN World Business Development Congress in Washington D.C. invited Dr. Newkirk as a VIP Priority Guest. In 1991, Dr. Newkirk was invited to participate as a Citizen Ambassador in Business Development and Technology Transfer to the Soviet Union. He has been invited to participate in international development conferences in Cairo, Egypt and Oxford, England.

Dr. Newkirk is a prolific writer having produced more than 1,400 articles, monographs, books, elearning courses, and other publications. His latest book, Leading by Design, is available through the Systems Management Institute Press or www.Booklocker.com. His next book, Paleo-Leadership, advances a fresh look at leadership thinking and establishes the framework for a new science of Leadership. Dr. Newkirk is the author of the Newkirk Library Series of Technical Management which will be released to the public over the next several years.

His experiences are as eclectic as they are broad. He advocates the intellectual, physical, and spiritual development of the person. He studied philosophy as a Benedictine Monk in Italy, worked as a deck hand on a Dutch freighter, and studied theology with the Franciscan Friars in Washington D.C. He participated for many years with the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) both as a competitor and supporter. Early in his athletic career, he attained international ranking in Olympic Weightlifting. A few of his many records still stand today. Currently, he is in training to compete in the Masters World Championships representing the Lower Peninsula Weightlifting Club of Hampton, Virginia.

Dr. Newkirk is an innovative social thinker with primary concern for the elderly, orphaned, and the disadvantaged. He is concerned about the problems facing the elderly in this technological and fast paced age. Dr. Newkirk has conducted workshops for senior citizens & executives on health, nutrition, and stress management. In the 1980's, he established a health clinic and medical network for the elderly. Currently, he is actively working to reduce the isolation of the elderly in nursing and retirement homes. He has contributed to the establishment of an orphanage in the Third World and funded fellowships for students in Eastern Europe to travel abroad and participate in seminars and professional training. He also established a Southeast Asian International Fellowship.
